Hi everyone,

Need a bit of advice I have a gt750 1985 swingarm converted trike, I want to add a bench seat as looking to take the misses and two young kids out on the trike.

What is the regulations for this and any ideas on what type of seating plan I should put in place many thanks .

I'm guessing that you've retained the bike registration via the fact that the 'trike bit' is a bolt on and that the chassis has not been modified? To add a bench seat would no doubt require some significant modification both to provide structural integrity and mountings for the seat and the required seat belts which may take it away from the definition of 'bolt on' and into the territory of MSVA testing? You are also putting a lot of extra load on / into the bike chassis not designed for it so IMO be very wary of doing it!

If you look at this one on ebay the seat is fitted to the axle. This means the bench seat will have no suspension. This may be the only way to go or sell the trike and get a VW trike with bench seats.

Or get one like these two.
