So, after 2 months of doing absolutely nothing to the the trike I got a bit enthusiastic last week and blew £400 on a torque convertor and flex plate, so I can bolt the transmission up to the motor and slip it into the frame, and start hanging parts on it.

My heads been in a right mess for a while, and I’m currently shitting myself, as my GP has put me in for a bunch of tests and stuff for possible motor neurone disease. I’ve had some of the symptoms for a while now and while they’re not really getting worse, they’re not getting better.

I may need the trike, if I can’t handle my two wheelers at some stage. 😕

Thanks chaps, I’m heading up the hospital today to ask why it’s been 3 weeks and I’ve not heard a peep about the blood test results. It can’t take that long to do, and write the results down.

Anyway, back in the garage yesterday, I got the engine back in the frame. The frame lower rails are about 1/8” too narrow to simply lower it down over the engine, and a gadget I made to spring it open, like a mini Acro prop, wasn’t too successful. But it’s in now.

I reckon metal flake red, if I can get the right stuff. Last time I used kiddies glitter in clear lacquer, over a red base, and it worked brilliantly.
It survived 3 years in the blistering sun in the Philippines, and was a fraction of the price of ‘real’ flake.

Mate did the same years ago on a chopper he built up. Got coloured glitter from hobby shop, sprinkle it on wet paint then around 10 coats of clear lacquer
