Haynes
My boom is a 1600i built in 2006 according to the VIN. Beetles are now front engine so what manual do I get, as they do not resemble mine. This triking lark takes some getting used to.

Re: Haynes
You want the Haynes manual for the early beetles up to 1983. the injection system were added to the later Mexican Beetles, VW never made the original beetle with an injection system AFAIK

1968 they started using fuel injection on some models.Mad B0B wrote:You want the Haynes manual for the early beetles up to 1983. the injection system were added to the later Mexican Beetles, VW never made the original beetle with an injection system AFAIK
Also dont adjust the tappets on a 1600I as a normal 1500/1600 engine, as it has hydraulic tappets and its different procedure.
