very fine build fella, and a TOP 'how to'....
be proud! be very proud!!
only one safety issue chap, and its a biggie....
weld on a torque arm/bar and bolt it to yer diff...
'u'clamps are ok to hold the axle, but it WILL try and spin in the mounts under accelleration and braking....
and that prop will simply pull out and take yer bollox off!!:biker:

Hi levvin, thank you for your kind comments,i know what your saying there but i alway,s use heavy duty ubolts and always use four and always weld two of them to the axle so that the axle wont turn.levvin wrote:Who's a busy boy then???

I did exactly as you describe.....zakboy wrote:Hi levvin, thank you for your kind comments,i know what your saying there but i alway,s use heavy duty ubolts and always use four and always weld two of them to the axle so that the axle wont turn.
and got pulled up on the mot.....
on the brake tests....
cos my 12mm thick heavy duty 'u' clamps, also welded to the axle...
were allowing the axle to twist over an inch just on a rolling road brake test...
And also considering pig axles are only pop rivetted to the diff...
that told me summat....
WELD ON A TORQUE BAR!!!

top how to fella
looking at the rose joints you used to fasten to the frame, the m16 bolts you passed thru the frame inserts/bushes you made, how are they fastened up. is it just a nut on the inside of the frame or did you pass a full bar through and bolt one side.
Hopefully will be doing another build sometime this year,
/edit
This is the part I'm waffling about is it just a nut and bolt
